Mötley Crüe releases 'Too Fast for Love' 45th anniversary box set

Mötley Crüe will release a limited-edition box set on Oct. 30 to mark the 45th anniversary of its debut album, “Too Fast for Love.” The collection is aimed at collectors and revisits the earliest history of the 1981 record. It contains multiple versions of the album, previously unreleased audio, and physical memorabilia.

The set centers on the original 1981 pressing released by the band's own label, Leathür Records. That version has a different mix and track listing than the 1982 release from Elektra Records. The box also includes the 1982 Elektra edition. Two LPs of previously unreleased live performances from 1982 are included. Those shows were recorded at Perkins Palace.

The package features a five-track vinyl of demos from the band's first studio sessions in March 1981. It also includes a replica of the original demo cassette and a 7-inch single. That single features the songs “Stick To Your Guns” and “Toast Of The Town.” A CD with the Leathür Records version is part of the set.

A 100-page hardcover photo book is included in the box. It features rare images by photographers Don Adkin and Kevin Estrada. The book also contains reproductions of an early press kit, a lyric book, a poster, and a bumper sticker. A previously unreleased March 1981 demo of “Nobody Knows What It’s Like To Be Lonely” is available as a preview.

The band originally issued “Too Fast for Love” through Leathür Records in November 1981. Only about 900 copies of that original LP were pressed. Elektra Records later released a remixed and remastered version with a revised track listing in August 1982. This move followed the band's growing reputation on the Los Angeles club circuit.

The box set is part of the band's 45th anniversary celebrations. Earlier in 2026, the group released “Crücial Crüe 1981-1989.” That collection spans the band's first five studio albums. Mötley Crüe is currently on its 33-date North American tour, “The Return of the Carnival of Sins.” The tour commemorates the 20th anniversary of its 2006 tour.
