Jay-Z will perform the 14-minute halftime show at SoFi Stadium on February 14, 2027. The rapper confirmed the lineup choice through Roc Nation, the company that has partnered with the NFL to produce the halftime entertainment since 2019. As a key decision-maker for the event, Jay-Z selected himself to lead the performance rather than hiring another primary artist.
The selection resolves one major question while leaving others open. The NFL has not yet determined which two teams will play in the Super Bowl, a decision that will be made on the final day of January. Additionally, no special guests have been announced for the halftime set, though past performers frequently invite collaborators to share the stage.
Four artists have emerged as potential guests based on their history with Jay-Z and their experience in the NFL. Beyonce, Jay-Z's wife of eight years, is a leading candidate. The pair first collaborated on the 2003 track "'03 Bonnie and Clyde" before they began dating. Their catalog includes popular songs such as "Crazy in Love" and "Drunk in Love." Beyonce has previously performed at Super Bowl halftime, appearing with Coldplay and Bruno Mars in 2016, and sang the national anthem at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2001.
Rihanna is another likely guest. Jay-Z, serving as CEO of Def Jam Records in 2005, signed Rihanna after she auditioned for him. She later moved to Roc Nation in 2010. The two have recorded multiple tracks, including "Umbrella" and "Run This Town." Earlier this year, Rihanna joined Jay-Z on stage at Yankee Stadium as a surprise guest during his tour. She headlined the Super Bowl halftime show in 2023.
Eminem, who collaborated with Jay-Z on the 2001 album The Blueprint, also joins the current tour. The two performed together recently, setting a precedent for a reunion at the Super Bowl. Eminem appeared as a special guest at the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show, which featured a hip-hop lineup.
Blu Ivy Carter, the oldest child of Jay-Z and Beyonce, represents a different category of potential guest. She has worked as a dancer in her mother's performances, including the 2024 Christmas Day halftime show in Houston and the Cowboy Carter tour. She is a frequent attendee of NFL games with her father. Her inclusion would mark a continuation of family involvement in the performance.
