Nashville, Tenn. State Sen. Brent Taylor acknowledged sending unsolicited nude photos to multiple women on Tuesday, a disclosure made one week before the midterm elections. The Republican representative, who has served in the state Senate since 2023, is currently seeking reelection to that chamber while also running for Tennessee's 9th Congressional District.

The admission follows a report by the Nashville Scene, which cited multiple sources who received or saw the images. According to the publication, one individual received a photo from Taylor as recently as 2021, when he was 53 years old. Taylor described the incident as part of his past, using the term youthful indiscretions to characterize the behavior.

In a statement released after the report, Taylor addressed the timing of the news. He suggested the revelation signaled the state of the race with seven days remaining until Election Day. Taylor stated that his wife is well aware of the situation and that they have already worked through the issue. He added that he believes Tennessee voters are focused on grocery and gas prices rather than his family's private history.

Taylor framed his congressional run as a choice between competence and chaos. He identified his opponent, Democratic state Rep. Justin Pearson, as the alternative and warned that Pearson would be a public embarrassment if elected. Taylor argued that voters should prioritize economic concerns over personal history in this close race.

Pearson responded to the admission on Tuesday with a statement criticizing Taylor's actions. He noted that Taylor has been married for 30 years and has held government office since 1995. Pearson questioned the logic of calling actions taken at age 53 a youthful indiscretion. He argued that men of faith and public office should not send unwanted photos to women, calling the behavior predatory and unbecoming of an elected official.

The race for Tennessee's 9th District includes Taylor, Pearson, and two independent candidates, Dennis Clark and Michelle Head. Election Day is set for Nov. 3, 2026. Taylor, who has been a state senator since 2023, continues to campaign for both the state and federal seats.
